Our History

On July 15, 2005 The Peoples State Bank of Mazomanie, Wisconsin and Community Bank Spring Green and Plain, Wisconsin merged two talented staffs to become The Peoples Community Bank.

The Peoples State Bank opened its doors on November 2, 1891 with $10,000 of invested capital and not only survived the Great Depression but did so with no loss to depositors. In 1938 the Arena State Bank was purchased and in 1999 the Barneveld branch of M&I Bank, Milwaukee was purchased and merged into the bank.

Community Bank Spring Green and Plain opened for business on May 13, 1996 with offices in Spring Green & Plain and grew quickly to $75 million in assets. Community Bank purchased the Plain branch of M&I Bank, Milwaukee in 1999 and combined those assets with its existing Plain office.

On May 1, 2014 the bank opened a loan office in Richland Center, Wisconsin which grew quickly necessitating a full-service location. On December 31 of that same year the bank purchased the former Richland Center Federal Savings and Loan from AnchorBank, Madison and merged a very capable group of bankers at that location with the lenders from its loan office across the street.
